The Waubesa Wetlands are recognized as a State Natural Area by the Department of Natural Resources. Join DNR crew and volunteers for the first Saturday of every other month for Waubesa Wetlands workdays. Encourage native plant and animal communities to thrive by cutting brush, pulling and spraying invasives, collecting seeds, monitoring rare species and preparing fire breaks. Show up for a day or become a steward responsible for all volunteer activities at a State Natural Area – any level of participation is encouraged. No experience is necessary to start volunteering. Keep up to date with workdays via the SNA Volunteer Program calendar.
Our next Workday is scheduled for Saturday, September 8.
